David Inches

David brings 20 years tourism development and marketing experience across all corners of Australia and New Zealand. Living in Hobart, Tasmania David delivers tourism projects of all shapes and sizes.

In 2006 David launched his consultancy working with Australia’s tourism visionaries to shape and promote compelling, sustainable and profitable tourism experiences.  David’s depth of insight into the global traveller combined with his knowledge of tourism operations, business modelling and contemporary marketing communications places David with a unique skill set.

David entered tourism management in 2002 when he was promoted into the tourism acquisition and development team for The Federal Group, Tasmania’s largest tourism and leisure operator.  Over the next 4 years David managed experience development, branding and marketing for Freycinet Lodge, Henry Jones Art Hotel, Cradle Mountain Chateau, Country Club Villas, Strahan Village, West Coast Wilderness Railway and Gordon River Cruises.  In 2003 David launched Pure Tasmania, a State Hall of Fame and 3 times National Award winning tourism brand.

Moving to Cairns in 2010, David worked with Tourism Tropical North Queensland (TTNQ) as Director Consumer Marketing for 2 years. David managed consumer direct strategy and planning, digital marketing, public relations, brand strategy, domestic sales and communications.

In 2012 David was invited by USAID to represent Australia at the Jordan Tourism Development Forum in Amman and has presented on multiple occasions as guest speak at the TICT Tourism Conference.

In March 2022 David return home to Hobart, Tasmania and continues to consult to tourism businesses and associations nation wide.
