TOURISM CONSULTANT TASMANIA

David Inches

David brings 20 years of tourism development and marketing experience across all corners of Australia and New Zealand. Living in Hobart, Tasmania, David delivers tourism projects of all shapes and sizes.

 

In 2006, David launched his consultancy, working with Australia's tourism visionaries to shape and promote compelling, sustainable, and profitable tourism experiences. His depth of insight into the global traveller, combined with his knowledge of tourism operations, business modelling, and contemporary marketing communications, positions David with a unique skill set.

 

David entered tourism management in 2002 when he was promoted to the tourism acquisition and development team for The Federal Group, Tasmania's largest tourism and leisure operator. Over the next 4 years, David managed experience development, branding, and marketing for various renowned properties, including Freycinet Lodge, Henry Jones Art Hotel, Cradle Mountain Chateau, Country Club Villas, Strahan Village, West Coast Wilderness Railway, and Gordon River Cruises. In 2003, David launched Pure Tasmania, a State Hall of Fame and three-time National Award-winning tourism brand.

 

Moving to Cairns in 2010, David worked with Tourism Tropical North Queensland (TTNQ) as the Director of Consumer Marketing for two years. He managed consumer direct strategy and planning, digital marketing, public relations, brand strategy, domestic sales, and communications.

 

In 2012, David was invited by USAID to represent Australia at the Jordan Tourism Development Forum in Amman and has been a guest speaker at the TICT Tourism Conference on multiple occasions.

 

In March 2022, David returned home to Hobart, Tasmania, and continues to consult with tourism businesses and associations nationwide.
